Cock vain alignment with the bow?

ok so i have a recurve and i just got new arrows only after i bought them i realized that the knock is aligned with the cock vain... i have the standard arrow rest with the sticky tape and the little piece of plastic that holds it... does it matter how the veins go cause i know the odd one is supposed to go out but i can still knock it and fire it without having the fletching hit the side of the bow... so my question is: does the cock vain have some sort of aerodynamic significance that its gonna affect the shot or does it not matter so long as i can shoot it without the fletching hitting the bow?
